Emma went to work

Just had to tell everyone how proud I was, and am of Emma today. Emma has visited
my workplace at times with my other whippets Ashley or Dolly, but never just Emma
and me for the day. I work with mentaly, physically handicapped people. Sometimes
there can be some really weird sounds or screaming, or just plain loud people. All
the folks are in wheel chairs. Ashley and Dolly plus when I had greyhounds have
come to work and been very very good. They are welcome any time and there is a
program built around pet therphy with them. Having her Canine Good Citizen title
on file in the main office is a plus for when the state inspections take place. I work
for New York State and they have their own set of rules. My supervisor was very
pleased when my whippets acquired their CGC titles. This covers our whole
program.

I figured it was time for Emma to wing it on her own ! I was totally impressed !!!!!!!
She was perfect !!!!! She never jumped on anyone, made any negative sounds, or
disobeyed me. She kept with me when I went to a different room, and when we were
in a given room, Emma  mingled and let the folks pet her. I put her on wheelchair
trays on a down ( I stay with the whippets at this time ) and she stayed down and let
them pet her. She did kisses also. No shaking or fear.

At times wheel chairs were moved around and Emma just went with the flow of
things. When introduced to staff she stood and waited to be petted , no jumping.
With no direction from me not to jump. Just her being a " good girl ".

Get this !!!!!! We have a pet RABBIT in our room in a dog crate. It is used when the
dogs are not around. Emma looked at her and just walked away. She checked on her
but made no fuss about her.

This is what I really and truly love to do with my girls. Take them to work and be
proud of them. See them make folks happy and have people say " Why can`t my dog
act like that " ?

My supervisor recognized her as " my youngest ", and was amazed that she was
such a lady. Just wanted to share my happiness and how proud I am of Emma !!!! I
wish I could post photos, but it against state policy to take photos of the folks for
public use. My " baby " is a big girl now. At home we are still just Emma having
fun!!!!!!!!
