Sunny's fence modifications
I put up my 6 foot chain link fence around my back
yard way back in 1993 and Sunny is the first and
ONLY dog to go over it.  She did it with me standing
right there almost next to her.  Jumped up, hooked
her feet over the top rail & valuted over.  I went up
to Lowes & bought the brackets & plastic mesh &
put it up with extra long plastic zip ties.  It was
intended to be a temporary fix until I could have the
fence people out to do something better, but it
seems to be working - she's not gotten out since the
modifications were installed in August 2010.
Sunny also jumped the fence numerous times while she lived with
David & Jennifer.  They ended up stringing TWO strands of hot wire
over the top of their 5 foot fence to try to keep her in.  I didn't want to
be concerned with electricity or with batteries that might go dead
which is why I opted for a more low-tech containment system.
