Sometimes things just seem to fall into place - that's how it was
with Hickory.  I was just poking around on the internet & came
across Dawn Carlson's web site only four days after Hickory and
his siblings were born.  I've been in love with the black fringed red
Salukis ever since I met Karen Clement's Saluki, Ginger, and
Dawn had two black fringed reds in this litter.  So, on an impulse, I
inquired about them and got a very positive response.  Over the
next 6 weeks or so we sent e-mails back and forth and every time
I asked a question I expected to get an answer that would quash
the deal, but that negative answer never happened.  While I
normally prefer to have girls in my household, I made sure that I
told Dawn that I needed a puppy with lots of self confidence and
Hickory was the puppy that best fit. They even let Hickory come
home with me way younger than usual, because I was going to be
in Wisconsin at that time and could pick him up.  He rode for two
days in my van, all the way home to Maryland and did very well
for a baby puppy.  He's going to make a good traveler.
