Marseille is about the cutest little Whippet I've ever had, she's just a hair under 18 inches tall and all of 22 pounds soaking wet. But she's got plenty of spunk packed into her small frame. She earned her first point in the show ring in November of 2006 under judge James White. She was very slow to grow up and it took forever for her attention span to get longer than a nanosecond, but finally the light bulb seemed to switch on. She earned her JC in March of 2007 and got her ASFA certification as well. Marseille ran in her very first trial - SHOT's ASFA trial on April 21, 2007 and finished 4th out of 9, after running off a tie, so collected her first running points. She ran in her first AKC trial in May 2007 and finished tied for 5th in a 16 dog stake. She earned her first two points at SHOT's AKC trial in March 2008 and then collected a 5 point major at a MAIGC trial held at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, Virginia in August 2008. We're still on the lookout for those "agility" course plans that can show off her abilities for the judges and these days that type of course plan is rarely seen. She has shown the same love of racing that her brother Brooks has, you wouldn't believe that much noise could come out of a dog that small, but she really gets herself worked up. She's managed to beat enough scratched dogs to earn her OTR, and has collected a grand total of 12 -1/2 points towards her CR title, but she is a true Turtle and manages to finish last in almost all of her races. In spite of having a short attention span she has managed to complete her beginner obedience class and passed the Canine Good Citizen test on June 30, 2008 and attended a Rally obedience class in the late fall of 2008. She made her first appearance in the Rally ring on November 20th and although she still has great trouble keeping all four feet on the floor at the same time she managed to squeak by and earn the first two legs towards her Rally Novice title on November 20 & 21st, 2008. She finished off her Rally Novice title just a week later on November 28, 2008 and in spite of having that title listed behind her name, she still has a hard time keeping all four feet on the floor at the same time. This spring she is going to try a paw at a foundation agility class and we'll see how well she likes that!

I thought for sure that Marseille could walk away with the Turtle award at the Jersey Rag Racers Versatility, but I was wrong. She raced her little heart out & finished next to last. She says to all her competitors "watch out, I'll be back"
Marseille earned the her first placement towards her ASFA Field Championship on December 26, 2009
