Paolo's kidney failure went from chronic to acute in the space of a couple
of days.  He got a kidney infection which sent him to the hospital for 5 days
for IV antibiotics and round the clock fluids in the hopes that it would turn
things around.  It didn't work.  He got to come home and had a couple of
rough days but then he seemed to rally.  The weather was warm and
beautiful and David took him for walks in the woods.  We had taken him off
all meds & he was allowed to eat anything he wanted.  I'm glad for those
days, but on Friday the 14th he got really sick.  It was heart breaking but
we could not allow that to continue.  He is now reunited with his beloved
sister, Lilith, and is chasing down bunnies.  No more pain & misery.

Hold all your babies especially tight and treasure every minute.  It seems
like such a short while ago we were oohing & aahing over the cute tiny split
face puppy and now he's gone.  Far too soon.
