Lure Coursing, day two - Sunday, August 12, 2007
A little warmer on Sunday than the day before, but sill well within the limits of what one would consider 'comfortable.' Ruby's pad was causing her some discomfort and she was walking in tip-toes, so she ended up sitting out the running.

Another full Open stake, 15 Whippets for a 5 point major. I had Avery and Marseille entered in Open, and Kira was one of three veterans running. Again today the course plan was laid out so that it went just out of my sight so I couldn't see the course well enough to make any determinations about how well the dogs ran. Marseille finished up out of the ribbons, but Avery ended up in a tie with one other dog for 2nd place! The dog she was tied with forfeited the tie, so Avery picked up her first three points towards her Field Championship! Kira ended up tied with Aren's father (Murphy) for first place in the Veterans stake, but Murphy beat her in the run-off. I should mention that they were also running with the winner of the Special stake, and the winner of the run-off would win Best of Breed! So Kira came home with the second place ribbon, and a leg on her Master Courser title.

This weekend also saw Derby and Avery finishing their Senior Courser titles.
