You know what they say - a bad day at a dog show is better than a good day at work - but I had a really good day at the Salisbury dog show! Ruby earned the second leg of her Rally Novice title with a score of 81. It wasn't pretty, she was somewhere off in LaLa Land and there were parts of the course that I just could NOT get her attention. However, I learned later that our judge used to have an X-racing Greyhound and put a CD on it, so she understood very well what I was up against with Ruby.
Then at 6:00 I arrived back at the Civic Center with Derby and he was one of only two dogs that tried for their CGC certificates, and Derby passed! I was really proud of the little devil, and even though we had some trouble convincing him that he really could lay down on command, he finally did and he passed. I've really been pleased with how fast he's learning this obedience stuff and considering that he's only had about 5 weeks of training, I thought he did quite well to pass the test. Got to see Karen Clements and I heard that Ray showed Chase at the show that morning (darn and I missed it) and she took Reserve, so she got the trophy I offered. Yea! I like it when that happens. ~~Joanne 2007-11-20 23:42:40 GMT
