Jaytea Whippets - activities and happenings

LONG day!  We went to the IWAGS trial held at North Branch, New Jersey today.  The field is 213 miles from my house and it does take me a full four hours to drive up there.  They were very slow getting going, and they run their JC test before the tiral, so we got a rather late start.  I was a big trial and even though everyone seemed to have their dogs ready to go to the line when it was their turn, it still took us all the way to sun down to finish the trial.

I ran Derby, Avery & Marseille in a full Open stake of 15 Whippets.  Derby finished 2nd for 3 points, bringing his total to 13 points, now all he needs a a second major to finish.  Avery finished 3rd for another 2 points, bringing her total to 7 points, but no majors yet.  Marseille finished out of the ribbons, but she showed me more speed than I thought she was capable of, and I was very pleased to see that.

Saluki Zuli had competition for once, and managed to win Best of Breed for two more points towards her LCX-2, bringing her total to 42 points.  Just three points short now.

Greyhound Ruby ran by herself, as the only Greyhound entered, but had a very nice run with Zuli for field and won Best in Field for 5 points, bringing her total to 33 points.

It was a very good day.  Any day that I can run 5 dogs and put points on 4 of them just HAS to be a good day.  Sort of makes up for those times that we come home empty handed.
