Dewey Beach, Delaware - the one weekend per year that I go to the beach with my dogs. This marks the 11th year I've attended the big Greyhound Gathering, hard to believe. This year I didn't spend as much time actually at the beach as I usually do just because of the way life happens. Mom had symphony tickets for us for Friday night so I took the extra crates down to the beach on Thursday after work & set them up in my hotel room, then went back home. Loaded all the dogs into the van on Friday morning & went to work. Went to the symphony right after work & then headed straight for the beach. The plan worked out OK, but I really missed having that extra day of vacation! Met up with all sorts of people that I only see once a year and in short, had a really good time, as usual.

One of the things we did this year was to try for a 'family portrait' with Kira, Avery, Derby and Emma. Connie got a couple of photos sent to her and she sent me the one above, unfortunately the guy did a good bit of photo-shop on it so the sizes of the dogs is distorted. Avery appears much larger than she really is. I'd love for more pups from that litter to come down next year and maybe we could get another portrait with more of the litter included! OK, I can dream, can't I???

Thankfully I had taken Monday as a vacation day so I had plenty of time to pack up and get home to un-pack the van as well. Got my reservation for 2009 and put my deposit down on my room. Looking forward to it already!
