Daylight savings time ended at 2:00am this morning, and I must say it was nice to not get up in the dark - at least for a while.  We were back at Ft. Mott, NJ today at the JRRWA ASFA trial.  I ran the same 5 dogs that I ran yesterday, Saluki Zuli was scratched after the preliminaries because of her on-going toe problem.  Greyhound Ruby ran with one other dog & they had a shoulder to shoulder collision at the end of the finals so I ended up forfeiting Best of Breed to the Open Dog as she was definately too sore to run again.  :((( 

Last night when I got home there was an e-mail from Carol Huff asking if I'd like her to enter Sprite to run with Kira to give Kira the placement she still needed towards her Veterans Field Championship and I said "YES" - it wasn't until I got to the trial today that I found out that Sprite is almost 13 years old!  However, Sprite ran both the preliminaries and the finals and came off the field grinning from ear to ear and seems none the worse for wear (thankfully!)  I did worry about her just a little, but have to trust John & Carol to know what their dogs are capable of and when to say no.  So Kira got the other first placement she needed for her VFch and now I can run her alone until she accumulates enough points!  YEA! 

I also ran Aren and Derby and Derby (who is actually my best runner) finished out of the ribbons and Aren finished 4th out of 8, so at least he got some points.  Lately I'm seeing that Aren seems to run better the second day than the first which I don't really understand with his Lyme Disease, but I guess I'll have to start running him two days as a regular thing.

It was a good size trial, bigger than last year and last year was double the size of the prior year.  It would seem that our $9.00 entry fee IS working to bring people in to this particular trial.  I was exhausted by the time I got home, I'm trying to do too many things with too many dogs and it's taking a toll.
