After three straight days of constant all day rain, it finally quit so Zuli could come to work with me and do a bit of a track at lunch time. This was the first time we'd tried this, tracking in Cambridge, so I wasn't sure about where to even try to lay a track.
But I remembered the little league park and figured there would be nobody using it now in the middle of the winter, middle of the week, middle of the day. I was right. What I didn't know was that after all that rain, the ground was completely soaked - like a bog & every time I took a step it squished under me feet and my footsteps filled with water. NOT ideal tracking for a Novice dog like Zuli at this point in her training. However, I did lay a short 'puppy' track and then a longer curved track for her and got my feet VERY wet We're supposed to be working on our starts, and I didn't do a very good job laying the track so she circled around the start flag for a while before she got going. It was not our best training session ever, that's for sure. ~~Joanne 2009-01-09 20:24:25 GMT
